For better connectivity and development, we build the Santa Catarina Viaduct

We built for our client ROADIS the Viaduct that crosses the Santa Catarina River, which is an extension and modernization of the Saltillo-Monterrey highway to Gustavo Díaz Ordaz Boulevard. 

The elevated infrastructure aims to lighten traffic and save up to 20 minutes per trip for citizens whose destination is the metropolitan area of Monterrey, has 2 lanes in each direction and a capacity of 3 million vehicles per year. It is also strategic for connecting trade with the U.S. border.

Great progress for the region

From the end of the Monterrey-Saltillo highway, in the Huastecas area, to its junction with Gustavo Díaz Ordaz Avenue, elevated over Morones Prieto, the viaduct covers a distance of 8.9 kilometers in coexistence with the Santa Catarina River. 

This engineering initiative has an avant-garde design that has been adapted to current regulations and approved by the different authorities in the field, which generates a great contribution to the progress of the region. 

To carry out this project we used dedicated plants 24 hours a day, 5 pumping equipment, more than 30 concrete mixer trucks to use more than 230,000m3 and 30,940 tons of steel for more than 200 supports, 1,860 piles and foundations through piles of 19 meters in length.

A project that cares for the environment 

The Santa Catarina Viaduct is illuminated at night thanks to the solar energy absorbed by more than 300 LED luminaires installed along its 8.9 kilometer length. 

This infrastructure reduces the emission of polluting gases and has an environmental compensation plan with numerous measures that maintain its commitment to the protection of the natural resources of the Santa Catarina River environment, such as:

✔ Wildlife protection.  

✔ Water quality monitoring.

✔ Collection of waste according to type 

✔ Delimitation of areas for rehabilitation, recovery and reforestation of native species.

These measures extend beyond the design and construction phase of the viaduct, thus protecting our planet.
